Overview
Relax and enjoy your meal at Buck Meadows Restaurant and Bar – we will make it memorable for you! We know that our quality, homemade style, large portions, and reasonable prices will continue the tradition started in 1874 of making Buck Meadows a favorite “Stage Stop” for many a hungry traveler, as well as the local loggers and miners.
Buck Meadows was originally called ”Hamilton’s Station” and was named for Ivah and Johannah Hamilton back in 1874. It was a stage stop on the way to Yosemite and its “claim to fame” was having the coldest drinks in the area – the cold courtesy of nearby natural springs.
The area was renamed Buck Meadows in 1915 and was soon bustling because of the building of the Hetch Hetchy Dam. A construction camp was here for several hundred hard rock miners that were working on the railroad tunnels.
Today Buck Meadows Restaurant and Bar is still a great place to stop off on the way to or from Yosemite for terrific food, cold drinks, and good times! Come on by – we’ll be expecting you!
