1850 Restaurant

Fresh, local and affordable. 1850 features “twisted burgers” and salads at lunch, with more of a grill/steakhouse feel at night. Enjoy signature “mountain food” options like trout and venison.

The restaurant serves beer and wine that includes locally brewed craft beers, affordable wines by the glass and some really good California wines by the bottle.

More about the owners:

Jake Wackerman was a typical Mariposa kid. He grew up here, graduated from Mariposa County High School in 2000 and left to pursue his life. He joined the Navy, and then returned to California.

He and his wife and partner Hanna Wackerman opened 1850 in the building that formerly housed the Red Fox on Highway 140 in Mariposa.

The couple is pursuing a dream. Wackerman says from the very first time he met Dutra, he knew they would follow this path. “It always comes back to food,” he said. “I love taking care of people, and I found an amazing partner.”
