Lembert Dome Hike

Overview

Lembert Dome is a short hike with big reward. The trail rises steeply for 0.75 mile to a signed junction. Turn left to reach the top of Lembert Dome for a spectacular view of Tuolumne Meadows, the Cathedral Range, and surrounding peaks.

You’ll make your way to the vista across a sticky granite face. Be sure to wear shoes with good grip for this hike and hang on to your hat as it can be a bit breezy up there.

To reach Dog Lake, continue straight at the junction. Allow four hours for a leisurely four mile (6.4 km) roundtrip visit to both Dog Lake and Lembert Dome. Stay off domes during thunderstorms!

Note: This is a seasonal trail. Check for accessibility via Tioga Pass Road.
