Winter Activities

During the winter months, Yosemite National Park is transformed into a winter wonderland, filled with new adventures for you and your family.

Contrary to popular belief, Yosemite does NOT close down when the first day of winter arrives. Many have the idea that after the season’s first snowfall, the entire Park closes until spring. Yosemite only “closes” to visitors when there is heavy snowfall, making it nearly impossible to plow access roads.

Within Yosemite, one of the most notable changes in the wintertime is the opportunity to partake in various Yosemite winter activities.
