Visitors are welcome to Yosemite year-round, but some areas of the Park are inaccessible by car from approximately November through May, due to snowfall. You are welcome to drive your car in and around Yosemite, though it’s encouraged to use shuttle buses in some areas!
The Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) provides bus service from many of the communities outside Yosemite. Along the Highway 140 route, service is available from Merced, Catheys Valley, Mariposa, Midpines, and El Portal. From Highways 120 and 132, buses can be caught in Coulterville, Greeley Hill, Groveland, and Buck Meadows.
