While there aren’t any airlines that will take you right into Yosemite Valley, there are many airports surrounding Yosemite National Park that, with a little drive, will get you there in no time!

Below, you’ll find a listing of airports near and around Yosemite, each with directions on how to get to the Park!

Airports Near Yosemite


Fresno-Yosemite International (FYI)

Drive north on Highway 41 to Yosemite. Give yourself about 1.5 to reach the Park’s south entrance, or 2.5 hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

Merced Airport (MCE)

With flights direct from Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the Merced Airport is the closest airport to Yosemite Valley. Drive east on Highway 140 to Yosemite. Give yourself about two hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

Modesto City-County Airport (MOD)

Drive east on Highway 120 to Yosemite (or head south on Highway 99 to Merced, taking Highway 140 into Yosemite). Give yourself about 1.5 hours to reach Big Oak Flat or the Arch Rock entrance. Give yourself about two hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

San Francisco International (SFO)

Drive east on Highway 580 to Highway 205 east to Highway 120 east to Yosemite. You can also take Highway 99 south to Merced, then Highway 140 to Yosemite). Give yourself about four hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

Oakland International (OAK)

Drive east on Highway 580 to Highway 205 east to Highway 120 east to Yosemite. You can also take Highway 99 south to Merced, then Highway 140 to Yosemite). Give yourself about four hours to reach Yosemite’s Big Oak Flat or Arch Rock Entrance. Give yourself about five hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

San Jose International (SJC)

Drive north on Highway 880 to Highway 580 east to Highway 205 east to Highway 120 east to Yosemite. You can also take Highway 99 south to Merced, then Highway 140 into Yosemite. Give yourself about four hours to reach Yosemite’s Big Oak Flat or Arch Rock Entrance. Give yourself about five hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

Sacramento International (SMF)

Drive south on Highway 99 to either Highway 120 or Highway 140 east to Yosemite. Give yourself about four hours to get into Yosemite Valley.

Reno/Tahoe International (RNO)

If arriving in late May/June through October/November, depending on road conditions:

Take the US 395 south to Highway 120 west to Yosemite. Give yourself about 3.5 hours to reach the Tioga Pass Entrance. Give yourself about five hours to reach Yosemite Valley.

Anytime during the year:


Take Highway 80 west to Highway 99 south to either Highway 120 or 140 east into Yosemite. Give yourself about eight hours to reach Yosemite Valley.
